Sipyloidea sipylus (Pink Wing Stick Insect)
I have realised that I have not, as yet, put any photos of descriptions of phasmids up here, which is probably rather embarrassing considering my editorial responsibilities for the Phasmid Study Group Newsletter. Unfortunately the number of species I keep has been reduced in order to fit other commitments, but I do like to keep a few "old favourites" as well as some of the more "showy" species.Here are some close up photos of the head of an adult female. This one is particularly lively and is a lot more willing to fly/glide than most of the other individuals I have kept.
