Sao Paulo Collection Destroyed
Throughout the world many millions of natural history specimens are stored in flammable liquids. Just occasionally something incredibly tragic happens.The Butantan Institute in Brazil is a leading research centre, which had over 85,000 specimens of snakes and nearly half a million spider and scorpions. Unfortunately it seems the building had no fire alarms or extinguishing systems.
