LepiSense deployed at the Urban Research Station
We have deployed a LepiSense device as part of the Urban Research Station.
LepiSense is a scalable automated monitoring system for nocturnal insects developed by the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH). The device uses a light to attract moths and other nocturnal insects, and a camera to automatically capture images of them. These images can then be analysed to identify species, providing a way to monitor nocturnal insect populations over time without the need for manual trapping and identification.
